THE VALLEY

2025 APRIL

Dear Esteemed Members,

As we transition into a new chapter for the St. Patrick’s Alumni Association, we want to take a moment to update you on our recent activities and initiatives, as well as our plans moving forward. Your engagement and support are crucial as we work together to strengthen our bond and enhance the legacy of our alma mater.

Recent Activities

Successful Elections:

We are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of our recent elections held on March 15, 2025. Congratulations to our new President, Ayo Aluko-Olokun, and all newly elected executive members! We appreciate the dedication of all candidates and their supporters. The election was conducted smoothly, adhering to our constitutional guidelines.

Alumni Centre Handover:

The Alumni Centre, formerly a dilapidated building, has been successfully renovated and officially handed over to the NEC on March 7, 2025. This facility will serve as a hub for alumni activities and meetings, significantly enhancing our operational capacity. Special thanks to all donors and members who contributed to this project!

Support for NECO Examination Fees:

In our continued commitment to supporting current students, we have initiated a fundraising campaign to cover the NECO examination fees for 44 final-year students. We are proud to announce that we have surpassed our target of N1,721,000, thanks to the generous contributions from various alumni sets and individual members. The deadline for contributions is April 25, 2025. We encourage everyone to contribute if they haven’t done so already.

Upcoming Initiatives

Annual General Conference (AGC):

The AGC is scheduled for March 15, 2025. We invite all members to attend and participate actively in discussions that will shape the future of our association. The agenda will include the presentation of reports, election results, and plans for upcoming projects.

Quarterly Health/Career Webinars:

Starting in April 2025, we will launch a series of quarterly webinars covering various topics such as health, career development, and educational support. We encourage professionals within our alumni community to volunteer as speakers and share their expertise.

Constitution Review Committee:

A seven-member committee has been established to review and amend our constitution as necessary. This includes addressing concerns raised during the recent electoral process and ensuring clarity in our operational guidelines.

A Call for Participation

We urge every member to actively engage in these initiatives. Your insights, feedback, and contributions are invaluable to the growth and success of our association. Let’s work together to ensure that St. Patrick’s Grammar School remains a beacon of excellence in education.

For further inquiries or to express your interest in participating in any upcoming events or committees, please reach out to the General Secretary at [email protected].

Thank you for your continuous support and commitment to our beloved alumni association.

Best Regards,

Ayo Aluko-Olokun
